Detailed Course Material Guidelines

Guidelines for High-Quality Course Material

At our website, we strive to provide students with the best possible learning experience. To ensure this, we have developed a set of guidelines that all course creators must follow. By adhering to these guidelines, you can create a great course that will provide students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed.

Course Content Guidelines:

  • Your course material must meet our quality review standards and include only information relevant to your course topic.
  • Courses should not duplicate content from other courses on our website. Any overlap in content should be kept to a minimum.
  • Please avoid using course material for marketing or sales purposes. This can erode students’ trust and hinder their learning experience.
  • You may include your website, social media profiles, or contact information as a small watermark on your video throughout the lecture or briefly at the beginning or end of a lecture.
  • Do not include links to paid content off our website, except in the case of providing access to a tool or product that is required for the course.
  • Personal information about students must not be posted.
  • Affiliate links, coupon codes, or promotional references to any Law & Bar courses are not allowed.

The minimum course requirements checklist

To maintain the standard of our online courses, the Law & Bar platform has established certain criteria that every course must meet before it gets published. The following minimum requirements must be fulfilled:

Course Content:

  • The course must have a minimum of 30 minutes of video content
  • The course must include at least 8 separate lectures
  • The course must provide valuable educational content that is informative and engaging

Video Quality:

  • Videos must have high-definition (HD) video quality, either 720p or 1080p resolution
  • Our Quality Review Team may reject videos that do not meet the required video quality standard.

If you have any questions about your video quality, Law & Bar is happy to review a Test Video from you, which you can submit before you start filming the content of your course. Send the test video Under the title (test my video) to contact@lawandbar.com

Audio quality

  • Videos must have audio that is synced to the video and comes out of both channels (left and right)
  • Audio quality should not be distracting to students
  • Text-to-speech software is not allowed; students want to hear directly from the instructor to build trust

If you have any question about whether your equipment will suffice, Law & Bar is happy to review a Test Video from you, which you can submit before you start filming the content of your course. Send the test video Under the title (test my video) to contact@lawandbar.com

Course image technical requirements

  • Image File Format: Ensure that the image file format is .jpg, .jpeg, .gif, .bmp, or .png. • Image Dimensions: Design your master course image at the following pixel dimensions. The main design must be within the content-safe area to maximize visibility.
  • Minimum required dimensions: 750 x 422 pixels
  • Maximum required dimensions: 6000 x 6000 pixels

Course Description:

  • Course Title and Subtitle: Include relevant keywords in your course title and subtitle.
  • Course Description: Compose a course description that summarizes what the course covers, how it is taught, what students will learn, and what they will gain from the course. The description must be more than 200 words and should not include images or external links.
  • Instructor Bio and Profile Picture: Create a complete instructor bio and upload a professional profile picture.

Watermark guidelines

  • One of the requirements in order for your course to pass Law & Bar’s Quality Review Process, is to incorporate correct use of your branding or personal information in your watermark.
  • Unobtrusive Placement: Your watermark should not interfere with the overall design of your course. Make sure it is placed in a subtle and unobtrusive location, such as in the bottom corner of your slides.
  • Appropriate Colors: Avoid using bright or distracting colors that could take away from the content of your course. Use colors that match your personal or company logo.
  • Personalized Logo: If you have a personal or company logo, use it in your watermark. This will help to establish your brand and make your course more professional.
  • Alternative Watermark: If you do not have a personal or company logo, you can create a watermark using your name, website URL, or email. However, do not include any information that encourages students to visit or contact you.

By following these guidelines, you can create high-quality courses that benefit both you and your students. Thank you for your commitment to creating excellent educational experiences for our students.
